Caught on the Kiss Cam: Vendor Flings, Staffing Affairs, and Why Workify’s in It for the Long Haul

By Ron Rice, Chief Marketing Officer

Chris Martin of Coldplay and the Kiss Cam couple.

So, in case you missed it…

At a recent Coldplay concert (yes, Coldplay), the CEO of a major company and the Head of HR were caught on the kiss cam—in a lovestruck embrace, looking very cozy, and very much not married… to each other. Chris Martin was probably crooning “Fix You” while that career-limiting moment got blasted on the jumbotron in 4K.

Now, we’re not here to shame anyone’s personal choices (okay, maybe a little), but it got us thinking…

Because honestly? That kind of sneaky behavior is all too familiar in the world of construction staffing.

You’d be surprised how many GCs and PMs are out here doing the vendor equivalent of whispering “You're my only one” to five different staffing firms... right before slipping someone else their project specs behind the tool trailer.

Construction Staffing or an HR Soap Opera?

Let’s be real:

  • You say we’re “your go-to staffing partner,”

  • But then we see you sweet-talking six other vendors behind the port-a-johns.

  • Suddenly, your “long-term workforce plan” turns into a fling for a two-week shutdown crew and you're ghosting us by phase two.

We’re not jealous. We’re just saying: vendor commitment issues are real. And they’re hurting your jobsite more than you think.

The Problem with Playing the Field

Sure, variety sounds nice. Until:

  • You’ve got five different recruiters sending you random resumes.

  • You can’t remember which staffing firm is responsible for which crew.

  • One guy shows up in basketball shorts, and another doesn’t show up at all.

  • Nobody really owns the labor plan—and now you’ve got delays and turnover instead of progress.

It’s not romantic. It’s reckless.

Workify Is Here for the Long-Term Relationship (No Sneaking Around Needed)

We don’t want to be your side hustle. We want to be your ride-or-die staffing partner.

Here’s what that looks like:

Real commitment

We don’t disappear after the first phase. We’re there from pre-con through closeout, keeping your crews consistent and your labor plan stable.

Straight talk, no secrets

We’ll tell you what’s realistic, what’s risky, and what your labor forecast really looks like. We’re not here to flatter you—we’re here to protect your schedule.

We know your crew—and your culture

We’re not just matching skill sets. We’re building teams that gel, stick, and perform. (Yes, even

your surliest foreman will start smiling again.)

Avoid the Drama. Stick With the One Who Shows Up.

You don’t need staffing scandals. You need stability. Let the other firms play games. We’ll keep showing up, crew after crew, project after project, no secrets, no surprises.

Because at Workify, we believe loyalty still means something.

And we’re in it for more than a kiss on camera.
