Together We Rise: Celebrating Women in Construction Week

By Allison Walters, President, Workify Staffing

The construction industry has long been defined by strength, resilience, and hard work. As a woman who has spent over 25 years building a career in this space, I’ve seen firsthand the challenges, triumphs, and incredible progress made by women in construction. That’s why Women in Construction (WIC) Week, celebrated this year from March 2 - 8, 2025, holds special significance.

This year’s theme, “Together We Rise,” speaks to something I’ve always believed in: the power of community, collaboration, and lifting each other up. When women support one another—whether on job sites, in leadership roles, or through mentorship—we create real, lasting change.

At Workify, we are proud to champion women in skilled trades and construction leadership. We know that diversity strengthens teams, drives innovation, and ensures a more inclusive future for the industry. But there’s still work to be done. Women currently make up less than 11% of the total construction workforce, and even fewer hold frontline skilled trade positions. Breaking barriers isn’t easy, but with the right opportunities, resources, and allies, we can open doors for the next generation of women builders, welders, electricians, project managers, and industry leaders.

As we celebrate Women in Construction Week, let’s take a moment to recognize the trailblazers who paved the way, the rising stars making their mark today, and the future leaders who will shape the industry tomorrow. Whether you’re a woman in construction, an ally, or an advocate, let’s keep pushing forward—because together, we rise.

Join the movement! Tag a woman in construction who inspires you and share their story. #WICWeek #TogetherWeRise #WomenInConstruction #Workify
