Some organizations are measured by the events they host, the programs they administer, or the number of members they serve.
The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) are measured by something much larger: its impact on the construction industry and the people who build America every day.
For many years, I have had the privilege of serving alongside some of the brightest and most committed leaders in construction through my involvement with ABC at both the chapter and national levels. What continues to impress me is the unwavering dedication of ABC members to advancing our industry, strengthening the merit shop philosophy, and creating opportunities for contractors and skilled trades professionals to succeed.
As a member of ABC's National Business Development Committee, I have a front-row seat to the passion, innovation, and collaboration that drive this organization forward. Whether discussing workforce development, safety initiatives, contractor excellence programs, or member engagement strategies, the focus is always the same: helping construction companies build stronger businesses while elevating the industry as a whole.
ABC's history is one of resilience, advocacy, and progress. For decades, the organization has championed the principles of free enterprise, open competition, and merit-based opportunity. Those principles remain as relevant today as ever. In an industry facing workforce shortages, evolving technologies, and unprecedented demand for skilled labor, ABC continues to provide leadership, vision, and practical solutions that help contractors navigate an increasingly complex environment.
One area that is especially important to me is workforce development.
The future of construction depends on our ability to attract, develop, and retain the next generation of skilled trades professionals. ABC has long recognized this challenge and continues to invest heavily in training, education, career pathways, and industry awareness efforts that showcase the incredible opportunities available in the trades.
The work being done today will shape the workforce of tomorrow.
As someone who has spent much of my career in workforce solutions and construction staffing, I understand how critical these efforts are. Every contractor, supplier, staffing partner, educator, and industry advocate has a role to play in ensuring that young people see construction not simply as a job, but as a rewarding and respected career path.
Serving within ABC has also been personally meaningful.
Construction remains a predominantly male industry, particularly at the executive and leadership levels. Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work alongside exceptional professionals who value performance, commitment, and results. At the same time, I take great pride in helping represent the growing number of women who are making significant contributions across every segment of the construction industry.
The industry is stronger when diverse perspectives are welcomed, and I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to important conversations that influence the future of construction on a national level.
What I appreciate most about ABC is that it brings together people who genuinely care about the industry's success. Competitors collaborate. Contractors share best practices. Industry partners contribute ideas. Everyone is united by a common goal: building a stronger future for construction.
At Workify Staffing, many of our most valued relationships have been built through the ABC community. The organization's members represent some of the most respected contractors and construction professionals in the country. Their commitment to quality, safety, workforce development, and operational excellence mirrors the values we strive to uphold every day.
That is why our support of ABC remains as strong as ever.
We are proud to stand alongside the contractors, chapter leaders, volunteers, and national leadership who continue to move this industry forward. We are proud to support efforts that expand workforce opportunities, strengthen the skilled trades pipeline, and advocate for merit shop construction.
Most importantly, we are optimistic about what lies ahead.
The construction industry has never stopped adapting, innovating, and finding new ways to solve challenges. With organizations like ABC leading the way, I am confident the future is bright for contractors, skilled trades professionals, and the next generation of builders who will shape our communities for decades to come.
I am honored to be a small part of that mission.
